Hefeinan Railway Station, located in Baohe district, Hefei city, Anhui province, is a national
integrated transport hub and one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia.
Hefeinan Railway Station, covering a total area of about 700,000 square meters, composes of several functional blocks,
including the Hefei High Speed Rail South Station building, North and South squares, offline
stations, and long-distance
bus station
The
North and South station buildings feature the Huizhou architecture style. Their
overall appearance is simple and grand, elegant and fresh. Traditional "white
walls and gray tiles" are used. White and gray are the main colors of Huizhou
architecture. The spacing of white and gray colors for station building ceilings
is heavily used in the Hefei South Station. The gray grid ceilings stagger with
white frames, with a clear gray and white distinction. Compton Alpha ceiling system
with elegant shape and layers upon layers fully embodies the rhythmic beauty of
Huizhou architecture and is vastly used in the North and South squares.
Meanwhile,
Hefeinan Railway Station also introduces the "four waters absorbed into the hall"
design philosophy. The patio structure with this design philosophy is another major
feature of the Huizhou architecture style and is widely used in ordinary houses
and ancestral temples. As surroundings are enclosed, when it rains, water flows
from all sides into the atrium, just like the Chinese saying goes, "Never let
fertile water flow into fields of someone else." Overall, Hefei South Station
is an orderly space teemed with rich Huizhou taste and modernness.
