Taiyuan South Station is the largest integrated transportation hub in Shanxi Province, an integrated three-dimensional regional transport hub that combines high-speed rail, common rail, bus, taxi, rail transportation and other municipal transport facilities in one. Taiyuan South Station will be used in conjunction with the existing Taiyuan station, which will form the largest railway hub in Shanxi Province.
Jumping into your sight is an expansive and magnificent architecture. The outer shape is overall square, the double-story Imitational window grille curtain wall is quaint and intimate, the eaves on both sides of the roof resemble the brackets of palace at Tang Dynasty, gorgeous and dignified, filled with a "Tang Style and Jin (another name for Shanxi Province) Taste". Taiyuan South Station not only maintains the charm of gray brick masonry that are widely used on traditional houses in Shanxi Province in terms of shape, but when it comes to the selection of materials, it also embodies the low-carbon, environment friendly and other similar technologies and concepts that are used in modern stations.
Aluminum alloy ceiling, marble floors, openness, transparency, a strong modern sense, are the first impressions you will get when entering in the main terminal building of Taiyuan South Station. The very unique COMPTON Alpha ceiling system is widely used in such large spaces.
The terminal building uses an internationally advanced unit-cell body structure, with a steel roofing composed of 48 giant "cell umbrellas". Currently, the main terminal building has been completed and equipment commissioning is underway.
